3 of family found dead at home in Karnataka, police suspect suicide

Bengaluru: Three members of a family were found dead at their home here on Monday morning, with the police suspecting it to be a case of suicide.

The deceased have been identified as Muddamma (68), her daughter Sudha (38) and grandson Mounish (14), they said.

On receiving information, the police reached the spot at Sudduguntepalya and found all three members of the family dead inside the house.

However, no visible injury marks were found on the bodies, with preliminary investigation suggesting that they may have died after consuming poison.

While no suicide note was recovered from the spot, the inquiry suggested that the family had been accumulating significant debt due to financial losses in their small businesses over a period of time.

Sudha, who was separated from her husband, lived with her mother and son. Both Sudha and her mother were working as domestic help to make ends meet, the officer said.

Bodies have been sent for post-mortem, police said, autopsy results are awaited to ascertain the exact cause of death, adding that further investigation is underway.

Bengaluru: Bus conductor fails to return Rs 1; court orders BMTC to pay Rs 3K as compensation

The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) was recently ordered to pay a man Rs 2,000 in compensation after he was denied Rs 1 change for a bus ride by the Bengaluru Urban District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission. According to several media reports, in 2019, a man named Ramesh Naik went on a BMTC bus from Shantinagar to Majestic bus depot, during which the conductor issued a ticket for Rs 29. The complainant paid Rs 30 and was not given the change. Keeping up the fight, Naik then complained about the conductor to BMTC’s high authorities. Karnataka: BJP MLA used HIV positive women to honey trap rivals, probe launched

In a shocking revelation, a 40-year-old woman has accused Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MLA Munirathna of raping her, claiming that the MLA used a honey-trapping scheme involving women infected with HIV to target his rivals. Police on September 18 registered a case against Munirathna for repeated rape, sexual harassment, and voyeurism following a complaint filed by the woman. In her complaint, she alleged that Munirathna sexually assaulted her in March 2020 and continued to rape her for the next two years. She further asserted that he used to threaten and force her into unlawful acts, including honey-trapping political rivals.
