Sexual abuse case: Prajwal Revanna sent to SIT custody till June 29, faces 4th case

The Karnataka High Court on Monday, October 21, rejected the bail plea of suspended Janata Dal (Secular) leader Prajwal Revanna in the rape and sexual assault case.

The former Hassan MP has been charged with rape and sexual assault allegations by several women, including his maid and a political worker after explicit videos surfaced online in April this year.

The charges led to Revanna’s suspension from the party.

Revanna fled to Germany in April 2024 but returned back the following month. He claims that the charges levelled against him are politically motivated.

Karnataka govt all set to launch free bus travel scheme

Bengaluru: Congress-ruled Karnataka government is all set to launch the Shakthi scheme on Sunday which facilitates free bus travel for all women in state owned Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC), Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) and other corporations. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will turn ‘conductor’ to inaugurate the scheme and he will issue free tickets to women travelling from Majestic BMTC bus stop to Vidhana Soudha. Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar and Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy will be present on the occasion. The police will be deputed in all BMTC buses after inauguration of the scheme in Bengaluru to avoid any confusion and untoward incidents until the scheme takes off smoothly.
