On Day one, 60 lakh kids in Karnataka get polio drops

Nearly 60 lakh children aged up to five years were administered polio vaccine across the state on Sunday. In order to make staff available for the drive, Covid-19 vaccination had been stopped for four days, said health and medical education minister Dr K Sudhakar.

Bengaluru : The Karnataka Lokayukta, which is probing the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land scam matter in which Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was named as one of the accused, has sought more time from the court to submit the final report. Considering the plea, Judge Santhosh Gajanan Bhat of the Special Court for MLAs/MPs in Bengaluru has posted the matter for hearing on February 24. The counsel representing the prosecution submitted that Lokayukta ADGP A. Subramanyeshwara Rao is reviewing the report and requested additional time for submission due to technical reasons. Bengaluru: Condemning the attacks on RTC bus staff in Maharashtra and Belagavi for not speaking Marathi, Kannada organisations have announced a Karnataka bandh on March 22. The Chairman of Kannada Okkuta (Federation of Kannada Organizations), an umbrella body of pro-Kannada and other groups, Vatal Nagaraj, made the announcement in Bengaluru after holding a meeting with various Kannada organisations.
