Hundreds of campus recruits who joined Infosys in October 2024 are being forced to resign after failing three consecutive evaluation tests at the IT giant’s Mysuru campus. Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) president Harpreet Singh Saluja was quoted by the Deccan Herald (DH) saying that the number of employees being laid off is around 700, although Infosys admits the figure to be around 300. According to the Economic Times , 400 employees were called in batches and asked to resign on February 7. The employees were reportedly asked to walk off with a month’s salary and access to some courses otherwise they would be terminated making it difficult for them to be hired anywhere else. Bengaluru: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said on Wednesday that the party has groomed him since 1989 not to sit at home. Speaking to media in Bengaluru, Shivakumar, when asked if he has gone to Delhi to retain his position as the state president, Shivakumar said: “No. It’s bogus, all are planted stories. The party has made me the state’s president for five years. It gave me the Deputy Chief Minister post and has groomed me since 1989 by making me a minister then. Bengaluru: The select committee on Greater Bengaluru—tasked with restructuring the city’s municipal agency—submitted its report to Karnataka Assembly Speaker U T Khader on Monday. Headed by Shivajinagar MLA Rizwan Arshad, the committee held several meetings with various stakeholders, including the city’s MLAs, MPs and senior administrative officials. Arshad, along with committee members MLAs S T Somashekar, A C Srinivasa, B Shivanna, and Priyakrishna, submitted the report to Khader. Based on the report, the Greater Bengaluru Administration Bill will be drafted and presented in the Assembly.
