Drug case: Ragini and Sanjjanaa to approach HC

A special court for Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances on Monday rejected the bail petitions of actresses Sanjjanaa Galrani, Ragini Dwivedi and event manager Rahul Tonse, arrested in the alleged drug peddling case with links to Sandalwood. It also rejected the anticipatory bail pleas of suspects Shivaprakash and Vinay Kumar, who are elusive since their names appeared in the FIR registered at Cottonpet police station.

Bengaluru : The Karnataka Lokayukta, which is probing the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land scam matter in which Chief Minister Siddaramaiah was named as one of the accused, has sought more time from the court to submit the final report. Considering the plea, Judge Santhosh Gajanan Bhat of the Special Court for MLAs/MPs in Bengaluru has posted the matter for hearing on February 24. The counsel representing the prosecution submitted that Lokayukta ADGP A. Subramanyeshwara Rao is reviewing the report and requested additional time for submission due to technical reasons. Bengaluru: Condemning the attacks on RTC bus staff in Maharashtra and Belagavi for not speaking Marathi, Kannada organisations have announced a Karnataka bandh on March 22. The Chairman of Kannada Okkuta (Federation of Kannada Organizations), an umbrella body of pro-Kannada and other groups, Vatal Nagaraj, made the announcement in Bengaluru after holding a meeting with various Kannada organisations. Vatal Nagaraj stated: “I request Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to extend his full support to the Karnataka bandh on March 22. This is not a political issue.
