Rough patch for BMTC as ridership plummets

After Namma Metro, app-based cabs and bike taxis, Covid-19 is taking a huge toll of BMTC’s revenue. The cash-strapped bus corporation, which had already lost 15 lakh daily passengers — it fell from 50 lakh daily ridership in 2013-14 to 35 lakh in 2018-19 — is now looking at a bleak future.
