Bengaluru : A complaint has been filed with the Income Tax Department against Karnataka Minister for Tourism and Waqf Zameer Ahmad Khan, who is also District In-Charge Minister for Ballari, over giving Rs 25 lakh in cash, which is against the law, as compensation to the family of Congress worker Rajashekar. It may be recalled that Rajashekar died in a firing during a clash between Congress and BJP workers. The complaint has been lodged by Hindu activist Tejas Gowda, who has accused the minister of violating Reserve Bank of India (RBI) regulations. According to the complaint, RBI norms mandate that any financial transaction exceeding Rs 2 lakh must be carried out only through authorised banking channels. The complainant has demanded a detailed investigation into the source of the cash allegedly given as compensation. Bengaluru: Karnataka Police have taken three minors into custody on Monday in connection with an incident of stone-pelting targeting Om Shakti devotees reported from the JJ Nagar police station limits in Bengaluru. The detentions were made based on suspicion and statements given by Om Shakti devotees. Home Minister G Parameshwara stated in Bengaluru on Monday that four to five minors were involved in the stone-pelting incident. He said four to five accused persons had pelted stones during the Om Shakti worship on Sunday night. The juveniles are aged between 15 and 17 years. Bengaluru: Three passengers who arrived from Bangkok at Kempegowda International Airport have been arrested for allegedly carrying hydroponic ganja worth Rs 6.23 crore, concealed in their checked-in baggage, officials said on Monday. The arrests were made by the Customs department on December 28, they said.
