Hyderabad: In yet another targeted attack towards the Christian community, Hindutva members disrupted a prayer programme in Bengaluru’s Koramangala area, alleging forced religious conversion. A video of one of their member, Satyanishta Arya, visibly hyped up, is seen confronting a Christian priest and members of the congregation. He repeatedly interrupts the prayer meeting and questions the priest about Christian religious texts. Bengaluru’s Chinnaswamy stadium denied permission for Vijay Hazare trophy match

Bengaluru: Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh on Tuesday said that permission has been denied to hold the Vijay Hazare trophy match at the city’s Chinnaswamy Stadium on December 24, a day after a government appointed committee inspected the facility in light of the June 4 stampede that killed 11 persons during the RCB’s IPL victory celebrations. The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) had sought permission to hold the match without allowing spectators for now. State Home Minister G Parameshwara had constituted a committee to examine on giving permissions to hold cricket matches at the stadium. The committee had visited the stadium on Monday. Karnataka Hate Speech Bill: Governor urged to withhold assent

Bengaluru: The Hindu Janajagruti Samiti, a right-wing organisation, has urged Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot to withhold assent to a bill aimed at curbing hate speech and hate crime, terming it “unconstitutional” and a “serious threat” to freedom of speech and religious liberty. In a memorandum, the representatives of the organisation and other outfits opposed the Karnataka Hate Speech and Hate Crimes (Prevention) Bill, 2025, and warned that its provisions could be misused, like suppressing dissent. Hubballi: A pregnant woman died at a private hospital here, after her parents’ family allegedly attacked her over inter- caste marriage, police said on Monday. Police have arrested three persons, including the victim’s father, in connection with the incident that occurred on Sunday evening. Drogue parachute deployment tests for Gaganyaan mission successful: ISRO

Bengaluru: A series of qualification tests for drogue parachutes, which have been carried out to develop a deceleration system for ISRO’s Gaganyaan crew module, were successful, the space agency said on Saturday. These tests were completed at the Rail Track Rocket Sled (RTRS) facility of the Terminal Ballistics Research Laboratory (TBRL) in Chandigarh, on December 18 and 19, the ISRO said. The deceleration system of the Gaganyaan crew module comprises a total of 10 parachutes of four types, the agency said in a statement.
