Lokayukta files status report in MUDA case against CM Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru: Karnataka Lokayukta filed a status report in trial court on Saturday in connection with the investigation into the alleged irregularities in allocation of MUDA land parcels to CM Siddaramaiah’s family. The City Civil and Sessions Court on Saturday heard proceedings in the private complaint filed by activist Snehamayi Krishna against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah with regard to the charges. The complaint accuses the chief minister and others of alleged irregularities in the allotment of Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) sites to members of the CM’s family. Linkin Park expands India debut with standalone Bengaluru concert on Jan 23

New Delhi: Rock band Linkin Park on Thursday announced a special standalone concert in Bengaluru on January 23, 2026, expanding their long-awaited India debut with Lollapalooza India 2026. Linkin Park, known for genre-defining hits such as “In the End”, “Numb” and “Crawling”, will be headlining Lollapalooza India in Mumbai on January 24 and 25, marking the band’s first-ever performance in the country. Karnataka extends online enrollment deadline for caste survey to Nov 30

Bengaluru: The Karnataka State Commission for Backward Classes on Tuesday extended the deadline for those who couldn’t participate in the Social and Educational Survey — widely referred to as the “caste census” — in the state for different reasons. They can enumerate online till November 30. The actual survey, with enumerators gathering data door-to-door, had concluded on October 31, with an 89.48 per cent enumeration. About 4.22 lakh households had refused to participate in the survey. However, in order to provide an opportunity to those who could not participate in the survey due to various reasons, the period for participating online was extended till November 10. ‘VVIP treatment’ in Karnataka jails: BJP demands CM Siddaramaiah’s resignation

This came after some undated videos surfaced on social media purportedly showing prison inmates using mobile phones, watching television and even partying inside the prisons. Bengaluru : Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara on Monday said the government has taken serious note of reports about illegal activities in state prisons and warned that such lapses will not be tolerated. The minister’s statement comes amidst public outrage following recent media reports, which include videos purportedly showing inmates having access to banned items like ganja, liquor, mobile phones, and television inside their barracks at Bengaluru Central Prison. “Media has reported illegal activities in the jails in the state. Davangere: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Sunday declined to comment on RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat’s remarks on the registration status of the outfit. “We cannot respond to all that Bhagwat has spoken,” Siddaramaiah told reporters. In a veiled remark against the Congress leaders criticising RSS for operating without registration, the Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat on Sunday said his organisation is recognised as a body of individuals. The CM also clarified that the the Karnataka government’s order mandating private organisations to obtain permission for conducting any events in public places was not directed specifically at the RSS.
