Bengaluru: A departmental inquiry has been initiated against a driver of the state-owned transport corporation for offering Namaz after parking the bus with passengers inside, a senior official said on Wednesday. A video of the driver, identified as A K Mulla, performing Namaz during duty hours has gone viral. Kerala man lynched in Karnataka over ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogan

Mangaluru: A Muslim Keralite was lynched by a mob of over 25 people for allegedly chanting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ during a local cricket match in Karnataka’s Mangaluru city. Police have denied any such claims and arrested 15 individuals so far. Deceased has been identified as Ashraf from Pulpalli village in Sultan Bathery Taluk of Wayanad district in Kerala, police said in a statement. On April 27, witnesses say he was reportedly chanting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ during a local cricket match. This angered a certain section of the crowd, and an argument between them soon turned violent. Over 25 people surrounded the Muslim young man and allegedly assaulted him with sticks, resulting in multiple injuries that led to internal bleeding and shock. He was declared dead at the hospital. Bengaluru IndiGo flight diverted to Hyderabad for medical emergency

Hyderabad: An IndiGo flight travelling from Varanasi to Bengaluru made an emergency landing at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad. Shortly after takeoff, a passenger aboard the flight became seriously ill. The cabin crew promptly informed the pilot about the passenger’s condition. In response, the pilot diverted the aircraft to Shamshabad Airport for an emergency landing. Bengaluru: Bodies of two tourists from Karnataka who were shot dead by the terrorists in the Pahalgam terror attack were brought to the Kempegowda International Airport here on Thursday. Manjunath Rao and Bharath Bushan were among the 26 people killed in front of their families after confirming their religious identity in Kashmir’s Pahalgam on Tuesday. Most of those killed by terrorists were tourists. Union Minister V Somanna, along with Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya, accompanied the mortal remains of the tourists.
