Bengaluru: Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar held discussions with Congress legislators from his Vokkaliga community on Tuesday night regarding the “caste census” and said the opinion expressed at the meeting will be shared with the Cabinet on April 17. While he did not share details, the senior Congress leader said they discussed on what has to be told to the cabinet in one voice. “I have tried to inform our legislators about the contents of the report to an extent… legislators have shared their opinion….we have discussed on what has to be told to the cabinet in one voice and we will place it accordingly,” Shivakumar said. Karnataka: Man accused of minor’s rape-murder killed in police encounter

Hubballi: The Karnataka Police have shot dead the accused involved in the kidnapping, sexual assault and murder case of a minor girl reported from Hubballi city on Sunday. The accused has been identified as 35-year-old Ritesh Kumar from Patna in Bihar. However, the police claimed that the identity of the accused is yet to be ascertained. Man arrested in Kerala for molestation case in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: A suspect has been arrested for allegedly molesting a woman at Suddaguntepalya here earlier this month, police said. Santosh aged about 29 has been arrested from Kerala’s Kozhikode, they said. The incident allegedly occurred at 1.55 am on April 3 in Suddaguntepalya and the CCTV footage attributed to the incident had gone viral. When two women were walking on the street that day, a man, whose face was not visible, grabbed one of them and harassed her. He had immediately fled the scene when the women screamed for help. The police had registered an FIR under sections 74 (assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 75 (sexual harassment), and 78 (stalking) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
