Bagalkot: Kudalasangama Panchamasali Peeth seer Basavaraj Jaya Mruthyunjaya Swami leading the agitation demanding reservation under 2A Category has charged that the community leaders are being threatened by the Congress government in Karnataka led by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to suppress the agitation for reservation. Speaking to reporters, the seer warned that if anything went wrong, there would be a “blood revolution” in the state. “In the backdrop of agitation for 2A Category for Panchamasali Lingayat community, we are being threatened under the CM Siddaramaiah led government. Bengaluru: Reacting to the Karnataka police notice summoning him for questioning over his demand for disenfranchisement of Muslims, Vokkaliga seer Chandrashekaranatha Swami stated on Saturday that he was ready to go to jail and had left the matter to God. The seer told the media on Saturday, “I am ready to go to jail if they want me to. I had taken part in the pro-farmer protest and spoken against the alleged snatching of their lands by the Waqf Board. I can’t go to the police station for questioning. If they come to my mutt, I will give clarification for my statement.” “The statement against Muslims was a slip of the tongue. It was not intentional. Bengaluru: Karnataka Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said on Friday that Rabi crops on 1.58 lakh hectares of were damaged due to rains across the state and assured compensation would be paid to the affected farmers within a week. Speaking at a press meet, after a video conference with all Deputy Commissioners, Gowda stated, “A joint survey has been conducted over the past month to assess the crop damage during the Rabi season, and the data entry work is nearing completion. Bengaluru: The people in Karnataka’s Bellary district expressed outrage against the authorities following the death of five women after delivering children in two government-run hospitals in a span of 15 days. The women were admitted to the District Government Hospital in Bellary city, and Bellari Institute of Medical Sciences (BIMS). It has been alleged that the deaths occurred due to negligence of the hospital authorities. Among the five deceased women, four had undergone cesarean surgery at the Bellary District hospital. A Hindu saint, on Tuesday, November 26, called for introducing a new law that denies voting rights to Muslims in India. The statement was made by Vishwa Vokkaliga Mahasamsthana Mutt Kumara Chandrashekaranatha who was speaking at a protest rally organised by Bharatiya Kisan Sangha against the Waqf Board. “Deprive Muslims of voting rights. Then they will mind their own business, and everyone can live in peace,” he said.
