Bengaluru man suffers burn injuries after bathroom cleaner hurled

Bengaluru : A 31-year-old man was attacked with a bathroom cleaner containing acid content, causing injuries to his face, said officials here on Monday. The case came to light in Kamakshipalya police station limits in Bengaluru. DCP (West) S. Girish said that the victim, identified as Nangesh Konda, is a resident of Kamakshipalya. The accused is an unknown person and the case in this regard has been lodged under the provisions of 124 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). The victim was admitted to the Victoria Hospital. His left eye was injured and was not able to open it. He has suffered burn injuries on the face and left hand, said the DCP adding that the incident had taken place on Sunday. In a shocking revelation, a 40-year-old woman has accused Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) MLA Munirathna of raping her, claiming that the MLA used a honey-trapping scheme involving women infected with HIV to target his rivals. Police on September 18 registered a case against Munirathna for repeated rape, sexual harassment, and voyeurism following a complaint filed by the woman. In her complaint, she alleged that Munirathna sexually assaulted her in March 2020 and continued to rape her for the next two years. She further asserted that he used to threaten and force her into unlawful acts, including honey-trapping political rivals. According to her account, the victim said that the MLA during a conversation with her revealed that he used honeytraping tactics for one of his political rivals, who was infected with HIV. Bengaluru: In a gruesome incident, a young woman, living alone, was murdered at her home, her body brutally chopped into 30 pieces, and the body pieces stuffed into her fridge, where her horrified family discovered her fate, Bengaluru police said on Saturday. Bengaluru: Senior BJP leader B S Yediyurappa on Saturday appeared before the Karnataka Lokayukta in connection with the alleged illegal land denotification case. “The police wing of the Lokayukta had served a notice to Yediyurappa and accordingly, he appeared before the investigation officer. A 21-year-old engineering student was arrested after he allegedly placed a mobile in the women’s washroom in Bengaluru’s Kumbalgudu area. The accused identified as Kushal is a seventh-semester student in computer science at a private college. He entered the ladies’ washroom at around 10:30 am on Friday, September 21, locked himself in, and activated the mobile camera, placing it in the adjacent toilet to record. However, his phone rang up 15 minutes later alerting the woman who was inside the adjacent toilet. She confronted Kushal who refused to open the door. The other women alerted the college authorities and dragged him to the principal’s office.
