Bengaluru : Senior Congress MLA and Chief Whip of the state government Ashok Pattan stated on Friday that the Cabinet reshuffle will be taken up in two-and-a-half-years in Karnataka and stirred a debate in the grand old party. Speaking to reporters at Vidhana Soudha, MLA Ashok Pattan stated that state in-charge and AICC General Secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala has assured him in this regard. “After 2.5 years, the Cabinet is going to be reshuffled. I am a senior legislator. I was supposed to become a minister but I have not got the post,” he stated. “Surjewala has assured me that I will become a minister after 2.5 years. The ministership has been given on the basis of caste. I believe that after 2.5 years, a minister post will be given to me,” MLA Ashok Pattan maintained. Bengaluru : The Karnataka High Court’s dismissal of DyCM D.K. Shivakumar’s petition seeking quashing of CBI proceedings against him in the disproportionate assets case on Thursday, has created a stir in the state politics. While the opposition BJP has welcomed the decision, JD(S) maintained that there is no connection with its earlier statement of Shivakumar going back to prison and the present court order. Karnataka HC rejects DyCM Shivakumar’s petition seeking quashing of CBI probe

Bengaluru : In a setback to Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka D.K. Shivakumar, who is also the state chief of Congress, the high court on Thursday rejected his petition seeking quashing of the CBI proceedings against him. The court also lifted the stay order issued on the CBI probe against him. The Karnataka High Court bench headed by Justice K. Natarajan directed the CBI to complete the probe in three months. The development is considered to be a serious setback to Shivakumar who has been aggressively taking on the opposition parties BJP and JD(S) in the state. The CBI had filed a criminal case under the Sections of 13 (2) and 13 (1)E of the Prevention of Corruption Act alleging that Shivakumar had amassed assets disproportionate to his income between 2018 and 2023. Patil on Wednesday said that another meeting would be called after October 25 to discuss acquiring 1,777 acres, in Channarayapatna hobli of Devanahalli taluk, near the Bengaluru International Airport, for the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB). His announcement came during a meeting held with representatives of farmers and the government at Khanija Bhavan that ended without any result. The cyber crime unit of Bengaluru police, on Wednesday, registered a zero FIR against Telangana BJP MLA Raja Singh in connection with an alleged hate speech delivered by him in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday conducted search operations at five different locations in Bengaluru in connection with a bank fraud case involving Opto Circuits India Ltd and associated individuals. These actions were carried out under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act.
