Bengaluru: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID), probing the PSI scandal in Karnataka, has submitted a 1,406-page charge sheet in the court against jailed senior IPS officer ADGP Amrit Paul, the agency sources stated on Thursday. Paul is the first senior ADGP level officer to be arrested in connection with the scandal that rocked the state and made national news. Bengaluru:  Following the Union government imposing a ban on the Popular Front of India (PFI) and several of its associates for their alleged terror activities, Karnataka police chief Praveen Sood on Wednesday warned strict action against any protests or activities against the decision and in favour of the banned organisations. The state’s Director General and Inspector General of Police (DG and IGP) said the police and district authorities will be taking necessary action to implement the ban, as per the government orders. “Following the Centre’s ban, the action to be taken by the state government has been delegated through a notification, and an order has been issued. Bengaluru: A number of office-bearers and members of the Popular Front of India (PFI) were taken into custody from across Karnataka, after raids at their offices and residences, police sources said on Tuesday. The crackdown came close on the heels of raids by the National Investigation Agency in different parts of the country including Karnataka last week. Karnataka Home Minister Araga Jnanendra said: “PFI activists and office-bearers among others linked to them have been detained as a precautionary measure across the state, since this morning”. “The reason (for the police action) is that during the NIA raids and police raids against those involved in terrorist acts recently, these people had tried to arouse some tension,” he said. Bengaluru : The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) probing the teachers’ recruitment scam, which allegedly took place during the tenure of Congress government headed by Siddaramaiah, has intensified investigations, and with the recent arrests, sources said the case could prove to be a setback for the opposition party. The agency made five important arrests on Monday, and the court gave their custody to the CID till October 1 for further inquiry. The accused persons were expected to make major revelations about the scam.
